With over 750 artist members living and working in New England, the Cambridge Art Association works to ensure artists can become, and remain members of the Cambridge Art Association regardless of financial status. Our Scholarship Fund – the Irving W. and Charlotte F. Rabb Scholarship as of October 2014 – allows artists who might otherwise be unable to join the organization to participate as full Artist or Associate Members. An artist member scholarship either fully or partially covers the cost of membership dues ($110 Artist Member, $85 for Associate, $50 for student per year), as well as the cost of entry into Members’ juried and non-juried shows ($15-35 per show).
Annually, the Cambridge Art Association awards four Rabb Scholarships to artists in need who are committed to investing their time in the Cambridge Art Association. Recipients are strongly encouraged to participate in exhibits (through the juried fee waiver).
In addition to Member Scholarships, the Cambridge Art Association’s Rabb Scholarship fund awards one $1,000 scholarship annually to a graduating Cambridge Rindge and Latin School student pursuing higher education in the visual arts.
Member Scholarship applications are accepted on a rolling basis. All scholarships are awarded based on need, and are distributed on a first come, first served basis, and are valid for 365 days from date of approval.
