When was this piece created? 2022
What is the story behind this piece? I have an affinity for stones, their solidity, their history, and their connection to the landscape, and so I wanted to create a monotype with them. This was done on a Gelli plate, and I also used an almond milk container for drypoint.
Is there an outside element that influenced this piece (i.e. another artist, nature, a novel, a theory, etc)? Stones and rocks.
Is this part of a series; if so what is the series? Rock Solid
Explain/Tell us anything else you would like us to know about this specific work: Although I own a large Takach press, I have been enjoying the easy experimentation that using a gelli plate allows.
What is one of your artistic goals? To have a solo show of my braille monotypes and monoprints. To create large-scale works.
Do you have any shows coming up? Pelican Cove Art Show
