When was this piece created? 2020 from March to October
What is the story behind this piece? What inspired this piece? This working process was greatly impacted by Shelter-In-Place order issued in March 2020. Staying indoors feeling disconnected to the landscape, I started to observe and paint the morning sky looking south from my apartment window. Each morning, I began my day with concentrating to capture the color of the sky at 6am with a clear mind. This meditative process helps me to contemplate and reflect upon the recurrence and impermanence of life.
Is this part of a series; if so what is the series? This is part of my Sky Collection
What drew you to choose this piece for the feature? I chose this work as it goes well with BLUE 2021 exhibition CAA is currently showing in the gallery. There is an earlier version of this which is called Fifty Shades of Blue.
