What are your earliest memories of being artistic? In my family art has always been a high calling
When did art become a pursuit? Art led me to a career as an architect, and now art has become a career in and of itself
Are you self-taught or formally educated in visual art? both
How did you first become involved with CAA? Shared gallery space with a CAA artist in Newburyport. CAA came highly recommended by that artist

In what other ways are you involved in the local art community? Member of Rock River Artists, Newfane Vermont and also local shows on the North Shore, especially in Newburyport MA and Portsmouth NH
What role do you think the artist plays in society? foresight, insight and reflection
What medium do you currently work in and how did you choose this medium? Air brush acrylic paint on prepared panel for several years now, after not achieving the intended level of spontaneity and flexibility with oil and brush. Of course there is always back to basics; chalk and charcoal on paper
What is your creative process? Where are you finding ideas for your art these days? Life passing by….. nothing more and nothing less
How do you choose your subject matter? Is there a reoccurring theme that carries throughout your work? moving through the work and the world rushing by…. in and out of focus, whenever I can stop time

What’s your favorite place to see art? open studios of friends and colleagues
What living artists are you inspired by? Gerhard Richter
Do you own any art by other artists? I collect Cape Ann School: Aldro Hibbard, Anthony Thieme, Emile Gruppe, Harry Vincent among others
Do you have any shows coming up? Member’s juried show at CAA, Open Studio tour with Rock River Artists in July 2019, Plum Island Roasters, Newburyport now through February 2019
