Opening reception | March 28 from 6-8pm

Presented at the CAA @ Canal

Juried by Sherri Littlefield, a Jackson Heights, Queens based photographer, curator and dealer.

About Storytime | If a picture is Worth 1000 words, let’s see photographs containing concrete or metaphoric multitudes. Stories, narratives, linear or non – tell us a story. Storytime seeks to inspire creativity and imagination, encouraging photographers to capture and share compelling stories through the lens of their unique perspectives.

This is an open juried photo show, open to New England photographers, and the exhibit will be featured in the CAA @ Canal Gallery.

Juror Statement | I never tire of viewing photography and its many forms. Each and every artist that submitted work to Storytime taught me something personal about themselves, or surroundings through their narrative work and accompanied statements. I left inspired, curious and wanting more. Photography has the power to introduce an audience to an unknown world; the inner workings of a restaurant, a cultural dance, a portrait of displacement.

Equally, photography has the power to be timeless and mysterious. Select images in Storytime blur the lines of past and present, reality and fiction, causing the viewer’s curiosity to fill in the wonder.  Included in Storytime are artists who photograph new journeys and familiar spaces. Storytime inspires the viewer to share their own story, on their terms, through beautiful photographs.
